REPRESENT THE REEL fills a large gap in the provision of art services in New York. It gives Bronx residents their only opportunity to attend screenings of independent films in their community and offers an artistic outlet to Bronx filmmakers, particularly filmmakers of color, who often do not have access to other film festivals. The Point's film festival is open to filmmakers of all backgrounds working in any artistic genre, though by nature of THE POINT 's name, the organization has primarily attracted filmmakers who work in experimental modes or who emphasize urban multicultural and socioeconomic issues. The three-day festival features 20-30 filmmakers and attracts an average of 80 people each day. For more info click here
