This yearly tribute to local artists examines the love of art, and its ability to make community across diverse cultures. Included in this display of local aficionados new and seasoned exhibition features a wall of prints made in workshops taught by Ixrael, artist-in residence, and Alejandra Delfin, printmaking artist and graphic designer for THE POINT. The work is centered on La Dia de los Muertos, Day of the Dead, All Saints Day, and honors the many Latino communities in Hunts Point and the South Bronx. Opening day of Aficionado 3  will also feature local artisans in a holiday bazaar in the Atrium with the special addition of a silent auction of a De La Vega painting, offered by the artist to benefit THE POINT. De la Vega, renowned urban artist, who currently is in residence at THE POINT will also be on hand doing portraits with his inimical ability to catch a likeness in a few lines. All works are for sale and this day provides a great opportunity to buy a work of art or craft at a modest price in this holiday season. The exhibition takes place in the Atrium, the theater (the continuation of Jose Rivera's Broomstick Series) the Environmental room, which displays works related to nature and public art projects -- and finally the courtyard with four works by Barry Kostrinsky.
