The Early Grades After School Program runs from 3:30-6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Participants range from Grades 1 to 6 and primarily attend local schools PS 48, MS 201 and The Charter School For The Arts. Students are divided into six groups that rotate among literacy and arts activities.

Currently the program offers weekly workshops in drama, visual arts, african dance, jazz, percussion, drama, photography, and environmental studies. Each student also participates in daily literacy sessions and receives homework tutoring. The program runs from October to June and features additional programming such as trips to Lincoln Center and artist visits. Circus professionals of Cirque du Monde, an outreach program organized by world-famous Cirque du Soleil, also provide weekly training in acrobatics and circus arts.
