Extend learning beyond your classroom through our school group visits program!
Our Neighborhood as a Classroom
THE POINT CDC is a hub for arts & culture, youth development, and community empowerment in the South Bronx. We are deeply connected with our community, including the youth. The school group visits program at THE POINT CDC allows young Hunts Point and South Bronx residents to explore their own backyard through the lens of civic engagement and the arts. Our doors are open to local schools for no-cost visits for these enriching programs led by active members of our community.
Group visits typically last a total of 90 minutes. An additional 30 minutes can be added to use the space for eating school-brought lunches. THE POINT CDC does not provide lunch or transportation. Programming for visits are on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday during the school day.
At this time due to grant restrictions, this program is only for schools located within The Bronx, preferably for our neighbors in Hunts Point, Longwood, Mott Haven and nearby.
